Find Trucking Jobs. Jan 14, I have same issue malfunction light and check engine light comes on when I am at high altitude same code comes up fMI 2.
I've changed nox countless times, doser valve, doc outlet and Inlet. No one can tell me why it comes on only when I climb a hill at high altitude.
Comes on at exactly the same spot everytime. Derate me to 55mph. Drive with check engine light on and when I go up the next step hill sometimes the check engine goes away. If not I do a regen and it goes away. Malfunction light goes away eventually. I've been everywhere and they always say its nox, never fixes it. Please help. Jan 15, Aftertreatment is a big issue. Why it comes on only when you climb, I don't have an answer for that. One advice, try not to let the def level go to low to the point you get a warning.
I have seen sometime that the def light will come one with poor def quality. If you can do a parked regen and it completed successfully you are good to go.
Now if the code is still active they have to do proper diagnostic the replace the part that is bad. I hope this is helpfull! RaffitoJan 15, Feb 4, Outlet nox sensor is the culprit For def bad quality always change outlet nox sensor first instead of changing all other parts. Goods carrier incFeb 4, Mar 4, Have changed box sensor countless times. Changed inlet and outlet doc sensor recently. Emission light comes on when I climb and always in the same spots. Got codes spn fm0, fmi18, spnfmi2, spnfmi15, and spnfmi Long time ago tech said he enlarged holes for def to spray better do you think this could be why?

I didn't get a derate so I drove to the nearest Peterbilt shop. They didn't. Paccar had no clue what it meant so they just started throwing parts at it.
After a Doser valve and humidity sensor the code went away on the dash. It came back on today. Now I have that code and another. Anybody have a clue what any of these are? I'm told that they care working on a J to OBD2 conversion list, but right now, the only way to get the Paccar fault code is to hook it to Davie. I have a complete list of the OBD faults from the troubleshooting manual, but the truck is telling you a J fault code. I only have a partial list that I've been building, but it's very incomplete.
Sorry I can't help, Paccar dash faults are going to be very tough to get any info on until Paccar can build a truck that can display the faults of their own engines. Or at least a way to convert them to the OBD faults. GrapeApeJul 27, Guntoter Thanks this. Jul 27, 3. The really frustrating part is that a Peterbilt shop can't even find out from Paccar what the codes are. Word to the wise if you're trying to decide Paccar Vs. At least Cummins can tell a technician what is wrong when a code flashes, Paccar can't even read their own codes and they still have the nerve to charge customers who come to them for help and leave with the problem still existing.

Fuel pressure depends on engine revolution speed. Fuel pressure is lower than the value specified in the engine protection parameter. For parameters, see Administration page 7. Circuit description. The sensor is an active sensor, i. Pin 4 on the sen- sor is connected to battery negative via pin 18 on the EMS2. The output signal from the pressure sensor, pin 2 on the sensor to pin 16 on the EMS2, is a voltage signal that is proportional to the fuel pressure.

Once you do you need to reset the code. Wait a sec after each move. Should reset!! Trans oil filter restriction switch. School Bus Fleet Magazine Forums.
Hi I have a blue bird all american FE with the check trans light on I read the codes from the dash and they are, Spn Fmi 31 Spn Fmi 31 Could someone tell me what they mean? Thank you.
These codes are not Allison codes which usually start with a P try calling your Blue Bird dealer to see if they can convert the dash code to Allison.

Symptoms: check engine light on, optimized idle doesn't work. Dd15 on '14 cascadia. According to my research this code means open circuit on pin 17 connector 3 of the CPC.
This wire allegedly goes to something called "optimized idle alarm". What is this optimized idle alarm? Is it the flashing optimized idle indicator on the dash? The hood open switch? Or something entirely different? Kind of hit a wall on my research without having to buy expensive and confusing manuals. Any help would be appreciated.
How to Check Fault Codes DD15 Freightliner Cascadia
Don't want to drag my truck to Freightliner over this little issue and waste a ton of time and money, but I also miss my optimized idle and the check engine light is annoying. Would like to fix this myself if I can Maybe it's that little quiet beep that happens before optimized idle comes on? If so, does anybody know where that beep is actually located? Found a freightliner optimized idle aftermarket installation manual, and sure enough, it is the beep! A boxy looking little speaker thing on the driver's side of the firewall.
Detroit EPA07 Aftertreatment System Troubleshooting Manual
Unplugged it, no change. Shorted the plug with a piece of wire sloppy, I knowand code changed to fmi spn 3 - pin 17 shorted. So the problem is with the speaker itself. It's a sealed unit, so I will have to get another one at dealership. Meanwhile I will try to somewhat destructively disassemble this one and maybe find the broken wire - what have I got to lose, lol.
